The atmosphere is cozy and the old school graphics adds a lot to the gameplay experience. I know this is really old, but EL is much different than Runescape. Having invested well over a few hundred hours in both, Eternal lands is much more gritty. The very small community plays in its favor as everyone is EXTREMELY friendly. Bots are also not what you'd expect, since you're comparing it to RS. They usually have unrealistic carry capacities and serve as stores for players or guilds. They almost never move, and don't exactly help individual players much more than being a more conveniently located specialty store.
