Last time this all went on sale I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition at 23.99 to replace my physical starter game (trying to migrate to digital cheaply) and also bought the extra digital pack (19.99 I think) and the SF pack (11.99). I could have just bought the three DLC bundles for $2 cheaper but figured I was buying so much for it digitally I may as well spend the two dollars more to get it all that way, and I could gift my physical game to my nephew since he likes it a lot. Gives you 6 ships, 10 pilots, and 15 weapons.

I believe it includes what they call 'DLC Collection #1' Either way it'll give you a wide range of ships, pilots and elemental weapons. There is also 'DLC Collections #2 Pack' which isn't included in the Deluxe edition. I'm only half way through but I think you shouldn't have any issues playing with the Deluxe version. Only limitation I've seen so far that you only get 1 lightning/yellow elemental weapon.

The other 3 are locked to the Collection 2 Pack.A lot of people tend to just play Fox and never even change their pilots. Mid-level range pilots have a skill which buffs all other pilots in different ways.

From what I've seen the game is pretty easy so you don't really need to min-max anything.
