A new arcade-style brawler titled Unbound Saga is in development for PSP.It's based around the forthcoming Dark Horse comic of the same name, and both star a hero called Rick Ajax. Trapped in a comic book world, he has to battle a chap called the Maker, who keeps drawing new dangers for him to face.Expect old school fighting fun and a sense of humour. Plus the game will feature art by the excellently named Cliff Richards, who previously worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Wonder Woman and The New Thunderbolts.Unbound Saga will be available for download from PlayStation Network this summer, with a price yet to be announced.
Straight to the Store for the comic book tie-in
Tracy gave the PSP's adaptation of Vogster's comic Unbound Saga a good pummelling at GDC this year, when we heard that it would be skipping the PSP's physical media and going straight for a digital distribution.
'We expect to see a growing trend where highly anticipated releases such as Unbound Saga will bypass the UMD format and the often challenging retail environment, being instead delivered directly to consumers,' says Vogster director of marketing, Mario Kroll.
'It certainly is a win for both content producers and gamers alike. It avoids an unpopular delivery medium and costly manufacturing, while improving the timing and availability of great content to consumers when they demand it.'
This seems to be a growing trend for PSP games, as developers and publishers attempt to shed a few of the platoform's costs and catch up with the gamer's current preference for direct downloads.
