The cartoonish graphics are on purpose, it’s meant to be a fun game open to all levels of players from the first time noob to seasoned veteran.Plus most big time dev teams start small and build up, aside from a very slight similarity in names these games have very little in common. The art style looks decent,and I’m actually a fan of Tyrant’s simplistic battle system.

It might lack the complexity of something like MTG, but there’s something elegant about it all the same.You have to keep in mind that one of the devteam’s other games (TU) features cards that cost upwards of $1000,and said developer has a history of leaving its games permanently unplayable when they move on to promoting a new product (with a nearly identical battle system). I do however agree that Spellstone does lean more toward p2w rather than f2p look at this young naive padawan who’s probably never experienced the hellish P2W & dev communication problems in this developer’s other games and thinks this developer actually cares about your input because it’s a “small team.”+1. Its cuz as my poo slinging as he may do, he really is a very very loyal customer, and great advertiser. Gets people that “hate” synapticon to play games by them. And continue being a whale/big fish.More on subject.The graphics do seem a bit childish to me. My mini me, 13y/o girl, says its too kiddy for her.

They do give it home of a small/homegrown game feel though. Maybe thats what they were going for here. Cuz we all know they have good and new art guy(s).
